Earth Connections WA is a network of passionate researchers and teachers interested in working together to grow student engagement in Earth, Environment & Planetary Sciences, and to showcase the diversity of people working in this field.

Earth, Environment and Planetary Science encompasses Earth’s geology and all aspects of major natural sciences (physics, chemistry, biology), mathematics and engineering. It is a wide-reaching field and includes:

  • Our place in the solar system
  • Our environment (continents and oceans)
  • Earth’s atmosphere (climate)
  • Our precious resources (minerals, energy and water)
  • Understanding our exposure to mass extinctions and geohazards

Earth Connections WA brings together diverse and inspiring educators and researchers to support and mentor the next generation.

  • Nurturing and protecting our planet through gender diversity and visibility
  • Highlighting globally significant challenges – climate change, extinction of life, locating new resources and protecting our precious environment and ecosystems
  • Creating and promoting indispensable career pathways
  • Showcasing the development and application of latest technologies
